Virtus Segafredo Bologna announced that small forward Awudu Abass will undergo surgery on his right knee. Abass suffered the injury during his team's Italian League victory over Dolomiti Energia Trento on Sunday and further exams showed it to be the anterior cruciate ligament. He will undergo surgery after which a timetable for his recovery will be communicated. Abass, 28, is in his second season with the club. He averaged 5.7 points on 42.4% three-point shooting in the EuroCup last season.
